Terms & Conditions

Over the Stile — Life Beading®

Last updated: 14.09.2026

1. Who we are

Over the Stile is a sole trader business operated by Suzannah Husey, based in Shropshire, United Kingdom.

Life Beading® is a registered trade mark, UK number UK00004015222

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Over the Stile. "You" means the person or business placing an order or making a booking.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to:

  • Kits and other products bought through our website

  • Workshop places booked through our website or booking partner

  • Bespoke and private sessions

  • Wholesale orders placed by retailers (Section 10)

By placing an order or booking, you agree to these terms. Please read them before you buy. We recommend you save or print a copy.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

3. Orders

Your order is an offer to buy from us. A contract is formed when we send you an email confirming that your order has been accepted or dispatched.

We may decline an order if the item is unavailable, if there has been a pricing or description error, or if we are unable to deliver to your address. If we decline an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.

We try to describe and photograph our products accurately. Beads are natural and hand-selected, so colour, pattern and finish vary between kits. Images on our website are illustrative and the beads you receive will not be identical to those shown.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery costs are shown separately before you complete your order.

Payment is taken at the time of ordering. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.

If we discover an error in the price of something you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatch and give you the option to continue at the correct price or cancel.

5. Delivery

We deliver to UK mainland addresses as standard. For other destinations, please contact us before ordering.

Most orders are dispatched within [X] working days. Delivery estimates are estimates and not guaranteed times.

Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave us.

If your order has not arrived within [X] working days of dispatch, please contact us and we will investigate.

6. Your right to cancel (consumer orders)

If you are buying as a consumer, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.

To cancel, tell us in writing at info@overthestile.co.uk before the 14 days are up. You may use the model cancellation form but you do not have to.

Return the goods to us within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel. You pay the cost of return postage. We recommend using a tracked service, as you are responsible for the goods until we receive them.

We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of receiving proof that you have sent them, whichever is sooner. We refund the price you paid plus standard outbound delivery. We do not refund any extra you paid for a faster delivery option.

We may reduce your refund to reflect any loss in value if you have handled the goods more than was necessary to examine them. A kit that has been made up cannot be resold.

Personalised and bespoke items. The right to cancel does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, or to bespoke sessions once they have begun.

7. Faulty or damaged goods

If something arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, contact us at info@overthestile.co.uk with a photograph and we will put it right.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If they are not, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. These rights are in addition to, and not affected by, the cancellation right in Section 6.

8. Workshops and bespoke sessions

Booking. A place is confirmed when payment is received and we send you a confirmation.

Your cancellation. Tell us at least [14] days before the session and we will offer a full refund or a transfer to another date. With less than [14] days' notice we are unable to refund, as materials will have been prepared and the place held, but we will do our best to transfer your place if we can fill it.

Our cancellation. If we have to cancel a session, you may transfer to another date or take a full refund.

Under-18s. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Please tell us in advance.

Accessibility and health. Please tell us about anything that would help us make the session work for you, including any health condition or accessibility need. Venue details are given at booking.

Bespoke work. Terms, dates and fees for bespoke and private sessions are agreed in writing before the work begins. A deposit of [X]% is payable on booking and is non-refundable once we have started preparing your session.

9. The nature of Life Beading

Life Beading is a reflective and creative activity. It is not therapy, counselling, bereavement support, psychological treatment or medical care, and it is not a substitute for any of these.

Our prompts and audio reflections are written to be gentle, but they invite you to think about things that matter to you, which can bring up strong feelings. Please take them at your own pace, stop whenever you want to, and seek appropriate professional support if you need it.

If you are currently receiving treatment or support for your mental health, consider whether the theme of a kit or workshop is right for you at the moment, and talk to the person supporting you if you are unsure.

10. Safety

Kits contain small parts and are not suitable for children under 36 months. Choking hazard. Keep beads and cord out of reach of small children and pets.

Kits are not toys. Adult supervision is required if a child is making a bracelet.

The bracelet is not intended to be worn by babies or young children, and should not be worn in bed or by anyone who might put it in their mouth.

Elastic cord wears over time. Check your bracelet regularly and restring it if the cord shows signs of stretching or fraying.

If you have a known sensitivity to metals or any material listed on the box, please check the contents before making up your bracelet.

11. Audio reflections and QR codes

Selected kits include access to optional audio reflections via a QR code. These are provided free, require no app or subscription, and are for your personal use only.

We aim to keep the audio available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may change or replace recordings. Access to the audio is not an essential part of the kit and its unavailability does not entitle you to a refund. Please do not listen while driving or operating machinery.

12. Intellectual property

All content in our kits, on our website and in our audio recordings — including the written reflections, prompts, artwork, photographs, logos and the Life Beading® name — belongs to us or is used under licence.

You may use everything in a kit for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, publish, resell or teach from our materials, or run workshops based on them, without our written permission.

Retailers may use our product photographs and descriptions to sell our kits.

13. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Otherwise, our liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the goods or services concerned. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable at the time the contract was made.

If you are buying as a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or any indirect or consequential loss.

14. Privacy

We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.

16. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please email info@overthestile.co.uk and tell us what has happened. We will acknowledge within [X] working days and do our best to sort it out.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.

Wholesale Terms

These terms apply in addition to the above where you are buying for resale. Where they conflict, these wholesale terms take precedence. The consumer cancellation right in Section 6 does not apply to business purchases.
